TurnTables
Anton's Turntables have always been a popular choice for diserning NSW Modellers. Based on actual NSW Prototypes, these motorised turntables are ready to simply drop into your layout and start using right away.
Anton's Trains is now Proud to announce a NEW Offering for the Australian Model Railroading fraternity.
The Sellers 60' TurnTable (with gravel pit)
This turntable is based on the prototype located in Crookwell (shown at right) which is on what is now the
Crookwell-Goulburn Heritage Railway.
With some minor modifications to detail, this turntable can be used for almost any location that a 60' Sellers Turntable was used.
These turntables were commonly used in smaller locations throughout NSW, and have a distinctive appearance - the bridge having large circular holes in it's Cast-Iron sides, and an open timber deck. Most were used in an open gravel pit arrangement, with
one unusual exception being Wollongoing where the table pit was enclosed with a brick wall.
Sellers turntables were found at some of the following NSW locations:
Willow Tree, Tenterfield, Narabri West, Cooma, Captains Flat, Crookwell, Grenfell, Picton, Wollongong, Bomaderry, Tocumwal, Tumut, Cobar, Coolah, Coonamble, Mudgee, Blayney, Wellington, Nyngan and possilby others as well.
More information and prototype photos can be found at NSWrail.net's Turntable Page
This turntable was also popular in the USA as well, being commonly used on many of the smaller lines and Short Line railroads.
This offering will be ready to run with a gravel pit, geared motor drive and control box.
